Introducing Light the Way™—a limited edition candle made with 100% organic ingredients—with 100% of proceeds going to Aveda's Earth Month partners and organizations working to save threatened and endangered plants. 100% Organic Ingredients One hundred percent of both the aroma and formula is made with certified organic ingredients: the candle is made of organic palm stearin, organic beeswax, and organic soy oil and has an environmentally safe paper core wick. The candle features the distinctive, signature of Aveda’s Color Conserve aroma, derived from 100% certified organic essential oils—a soothing blend of rose geranium, lavender, ylang ylang, peppermint, and grapefruit. From Soil to Candle At the core of Aveda's Light the Way Candle's soothing aroma is certified organic rose geranium sourced from South Africa. Aveda collaborates with 30 organic farms throughout South Africa. The partnership allows local families to return to their villages and farms from big cities, where living and working conditions are especially difficult. For these families, farming rose geranium is an important first step to reclaiming their land and their livelihood. For more than a decade, Aveda has initiated an awareness and education campaign across its worldwide network of salons, spas and retail stores during Earth Month. Its purpose: to encourage caring for the Earth through responsible human action. This year, 100% of proceeds from Aveda's Light the Way™ candle sold in April will go to organizations dedicated to saving threatened and endangered plants. It is the first of a new series of limited edition candles—each with a new aroma made with certified organic essential oils—that will launch during Earth Month each year.
