It was 400 square feet on the Upper West Side in a little storefront that had five chairs and two shampoo sinks. You had to crawl over the people to get to the bathroom. Now I have four salons—three Lifestyle Salons and Spas, and one Concept Salon. You know, to turn around and look at 200 people that work for you and think that they make their life decisions, plans and dreams based upon my business decisions is pretty powerful. When they grow I grow, so we grow together. Aveda education plays a huge part in the creative side of my business.
